Having just performed a weekend of Great Gatsby parties in the UK, we thought we’d post up some photos to show off the razzle dazzle, glitz and glamour from some of the fabulous events we performed at. We like to think we are the UK’s top Great Gatsby band.

The first was a 1920s themed party held in London. The venue was decorated with a gangster’s speakeasy, Bugsy’s jazz club,  silhouettes, a popcorn stand, smoke machine, coloured balloons, DJ and of course, a live band.

Silk Street Swing performed our 1920’s set (which included vocals, piano, double bass, drums and saxophone). The dance floor was full all evening to the sounds of the roaring twenties with guests dancing the Charleston, Foxtrot and Quick Step.

The second event was a Great Gatsby themed birthday party. This time Silk Street Jazz performed an acoustic set straight after the firework display. With hands waving and feet tapping, family and friends were tap dancing and waltzing the night away. Some of the band members even stepped in to the crowd to give certain audience members their own personal song or saxophone solo!

We hope these photos give you some ideas for your 1920’s prohibition party or Great Gatsby themed event.
